Types Of Flu A/B We Treat

  • Influenza Type A

Most common and often most severe type. Responsible for most seasonal outbreaks.

  • Influenza Type B

Generally milder but still causes significant illness, especially in children.

  • Flu with secondary complication

Some flu cases develop into secondary infections such as ear infections or pneumonia.

  • Flu-like illness (not flu)

Not all flu-like symptoms are influenza — test confirms whether flu virus is present.

When to Go to the Emergency Room Instead

Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 if you or someone with you has:

  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath at rest
  • Persistent chest pain or pressure
  • Confusion or altered mental status
  • Bluish lips or face
  • Severe dehydration

If you are unsure, go to the ER. It is always better to be safe.
