When to Go to the Emergency Room Instead
Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 if you or someone with you has:
- Severe, sudden upper right abdominal pain that does not improve

- Rapid heart rate with severe pain (possible complicated cholecystitis)
If you are unsure, go to the ER. It is always better to be safe.
